Public Organisation helping the civilian population of Chernihiv region, affected by russian aggression

February 24, 2022 is a tragic date in the modern history of Ukraine — the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion. Russian troops entered the territory of Ukraine from the eastern and northern borders. Their main goal from the north was to take control of the capital — Kyiv. Chernihiv, one of the northern regional centers, with a population of almost 300,000 people is located in the middle between the Belarusian border and the goal of the invaders — Kyiv. Enemy troops were all over the region. The bridges to Chernihiv were destroyed, the city was under heavy shelling both from the ground and from the air. In the period from March 11 to April 6, 2022 Chernihiv was under blockade, but heroically resisted. The consequences of this have seriously affected the city's infrastructure and people's lives. The Russian army has already left the Chernihiv region, but is still shelling the region from a distance. We are a group of volunteers from Chernihiv, and we consider it our duty to help civilians recover from the consequences of war.

The people of the region continue to struggle with daily challenges:

70% of critical infrastructure has been destroyed or damaged (according to the city mayor's information), which creates serious problems providing homes with electricity and central heating

Even more houses are partially destroyed — damaged walls, windows, roofs

Daily power outages

Damaged schools, problems with heating and electricity and regular air raid sirens make it difficult for children to study.

Difficulties for socially vulnerable groups of the population: seniors, the poor, the disabled
